The mission of the International Nature Film Festival is to raise awareness of the wide public on the protection and conservation of biological diversity, natural resources, values and beauties of the world with a special emphasis on Europe and the Carpathian basin through the display of films connected to the topic.

The festival brings a good opportunity for filmmakers, professionals and the public to meet and open conversation on these important issues through different meetings and conferences in the frame of the event and to enjoy the nature films at the same time.
The side events of the festival bring closer the most important questions of nature protection and conservation to the public in a way that not only transfer information but entertain the visitors.
 

General information
We would like to inform all potential participants about the fact that in the frame of the 2017 Festival two different Film Reviews will be organized with different requirements.

 1. International Film Review

Categories:
1.Nature Films  (films introducing our natural resources, wildlife, landscapes and the changes)
2.Documentaries on nature protection and conservation (films introducing the themes of biological diversity, the effects of climate change and people who protect the environment and live in harmony with nature)
a. television productions/ independent film
b. short films, videos, independent short films
3.Scienticific documentaries  (educational documentary films, the role of science in the protection of natural resources, in the adaptation of man, possibilities and ideas that nature provides to scientists)
4.Travelogues and expedition documentaries  (the adventure that must be seen because it is not an end in itself, “know your world” documentary films)
5.Animations (focusing on nature conservation and protection and ecological footprint)
 
2. Carpathian Basin Film Review
A review of films introducing the natural resources and cultural values of the Carpathian Basin

Categories:
1. Natural resources and heritage of the Carpathian Basin
a. Nature film
b . Documentaries
2. Cultural values, (rural life, life in the countryside, traditions)
 
In case of both competitions films produced exclusively in or after 2014 can be submitted with the specification of category (selected from the list above).
 
Films submitted to the International Film Festival can be submitted to the Carpathian-Basin Film Festival/Competition as well in case the film meets the above listed requirements.
 
The festival does not pay screening fee for the filmmakers. With the entry of a film to the Festival the filmmaker agrees that the organizer of the Festival can screen the submitted film or its parts during the festival and also after the festival during different events and in the media with noncommercial purpose.
 

Entry regulations

Entries can be made in the following ways:

- by clicking on the logo of the Festival
- through our official web site clicking on Entry form

The entry is only valid when all required fields are filled and all required materials (Original title;
English title; Completion date; Production country; Running time; English synopsis, maximum
500 characters; Director, Director e-mail; Director of photography; Music; Editor; Producer;
Distributor; photo of the director; 3 photos of the film; short biography, max. 500 characters)
are
uploaded to the site. The organizers may require additional information or materials from the
filmmakers.
Please upload the photos in a good quality, minimum 300 DPI quality and with minimum 800x600
resolution. Upload the biography in Word or in txt file, not in PDF. Do not use upper case with any of
the information added.
Entries must contain the category in which the film is submitted.
The timeframe for entries is between November 7, 2016 and 24.00 pm (CET) February 28, 2017.

1. International Film Festival Competition
The submitted films must contain English subtitles. The official languages of the Festival in 2017 are English and Hungarian. The participants are required to upload or send any information in English.

The submitted films will be first evaluated by the pre-jury and selected films will be evaluated by the Festival Jury. The filmmakers of the selected films will be advised by March 15, 2017 whether their film was selected for the competition. The screening copies of the selected films must arrive before/on April 15, 2017. We kindly ask the participants to send the screening copies electronically or on Blu-ray disc in HD format. The filmmakers must send the English text of the selected films in srt format or in a Word document with in-out timecodes. Without these the Hungarian translation cannot be made and the film will be not included the final screening program. The organizers keep their right to include or exclude any of the selected films to/from the screening program at any time during the Festival.

 2. Carpathian Basin competition
Exclusively only those films are allowed to be submitted to this review which are about the natural resources and cultural values of the Carpathian Basin.

English subtitles are not obligatory in this category. In case of films not in Hungarian language the filmmakers must send the English text of the selected films in srt format or in a Word document with in-out timecodes. Without these the Hungarian translation cannot be made and the film will not be included the final screening program.

The decisions of the pre-Jury and the Jury are final and cannot be changed, there is no opportunity for
appeal.

The organizers will provide accommodation (1 night, maximum 2 people) for the filmmakers for the day of the screening of their film and also the opportunity to participate in the professional activities (conferences, meetings) of the event (preliminary registration is required).

Please note that entries with missing information will not be accepted! The organizers will ask the participants to complete documents only once. If the participants do not respond and provide the relevant information within the deadlines, their entry will be not accepted.

Screening Information
Films submitted to the Festival will be screened at different locations of the Festival throughout the event. With the submission of a film to the Festival the Filmmakers agree with the fact that their films and parts of the films may be used by the International Nature Film Festival Gödöllő during different events and demonstrations (educational and exhibition screenings) and in the different fields of media (with reference to the filmmaker) to propagate the Festival with noncommercial purposes.

Protection of personal data
The organizers of the Festival will handle all personal data given to them in connection with the Festival entry confidentially; they will use them only for the registration and for festival publications and will not hand them over to any third person. In case of data and files uploaded to www.reelport.com the same data protection rules will be applied. The films uploaded to the www.reelport.com will be used exclusively for preliminary selection. The films not selected for screening in the festival program by the jury will be deleted.
